Tweezing 101

Taking ownership of your brows is the first step to brow confidence.

Follow my simple, beginner’s tweezing guide:

Step 1: Let them go

Allow time for your brows to regrow. During this period, if you notice a few hairs sprouting around your eyelids - remove them. They don't contribute to your overall brow thickness.

Step 2: Create a tweezing framework

Before you tweeze, draw an outline 3-4mm around your shape using a brow pencil or a combination of concealer and a flat brush. This technique provides a clear visual guide - no more guesswork.

Step 3: Tame wild hairs

It sounds scary, but you can do it with caution. Check for rogue hairs by brushing them upward and identifying their position against the outline. Use straight scissors to trim them individually at the outline or, to be safe, approximately 5mm away from the natural shape. This controlled trimming preserves the brows' natural density.

Step 4: Easy tweezing

Removing stray hairs can enhance the appearance of even light, sparse brows. Equip yourself with Tweezerman Silver Slant tweezers and a spoolie brush. After outlining, keep the skin taut, position the tweezers against the skin, and meticulously tweeze one hair at a time, starting from the eyelid and moving towards the outline. Use the spoolie brush to double-check the root of the hair if you're doubtful of its location. Witness an instant improvement in the neatness of your brows.

Step 5: Set and forget

Achieve the illusion of full, well-groomed brows by setting them. Opt for a clear gel to set without altering colour or thickness. Alternatively, choose a tinted brow mascara for added volume and darkness. Combine the two for a more personalised approach—apply tinted mascara to sparse areas like the front and tail and clear gel to the denser body of the brow.

The application is simple: brushing them upward towards the arch and fanning them outwards towards the end. Your brows will stay put all day.

Remember, tweezing stray hairs is a precise and gentler alternative to waxing or threading. Make a weekly brow check-in and enjoy your new beauty routine.
