Lauren Turner

Say hello to Lauren

Here we feature a different woman in the Brow Confidence community and ask her about her first brow experiences, the lessons she’s learned, and her top brow tips.

Meet BC woman Lauren Turner, a woman who has learnt to be her own brow artist.

Name: Lauren Turner
Age: 30
Occupation: Retail Logistics

1. Tell us about your first brow grooming experience?

My brows have only ever been touched by myself and Lien.

When I first got my hands on a pair of tweezers I thought I was too smart to fall for all the typical grooming mistakes. I was wrong. Looking back now, I had them too arched, too thin, too bold, and my look was severe.

A few years later, I grew them out and accidentally did a 180 into too light and too fuzzy. Then I was finally smart enough to call Lien.

2. What is your current brow routine?

On a daily basis, I spend maybe 2 minutes doing my brows while waiting for the bus. I comb them through with Anastasia Beverley Hills Tinted Brow Gel to add a little fullness to my sparse inner corners. Then I use Benefit Cosmetics Precisely My Brow Eyebrow Pencil. Both products were recommended to me by Lien in shades I never would have chosen on my own, but they’re perfect. When I have the time, I use a small straight brush to clean up the edges using a stick concealer.

The reason I find it so easy to do my brows is because I maintain them almost every day, never allowing a stray hair to throw me off the course. Tinting them at home and trimming them slightly also makes them appear naturally fuller with less daily effort.

3. What does brow confidence mean to you?

Brow Confidence is knowing that my face matches my mood. I don’t unknowingly look angry or unapproachable, tired or sad. Because Lien has perfected the most flattering brow for my face; designed just for me.

4. How did you find out about Lien?

I discovered Lien on Instagram, I don’t remember how. But I’d followed her for some time before finally being able to snag an appointment. I drove down from the Gold Coast to meet her when she’d squeezed some bookings into her holiday.

Even before meeting me, she’d done research on my arches and already formed a plan. As soon as I walked in she could tell where I’d gone wrong. I trusted her completely and I’m forever grateful that I did. Lien not only restored symmetry to my face but made my overall expression much softer and more approachable. She gave me the tools and the education to maintain it at home since I couldn’t see her for regular sessions.

Whenever I have a question or want a product recommendation I know I can reach out. Trusting Lien with my face was the best thing I ever did.

“The most important takeaway has been that it’s okay to tweak what nature gave you. You can optimise your shape without betraying anything.”

5. Biggest lesson you’ve taken away?

The most important takeaway has been that it’s okay to tweak what nature gave you. You can optimise your shape without betraying anything.

When Lien suggested shortening my tails she changed my life for the better. I never would have dared make such a drastic change. Your brows really do define your entire look. It’s important to make sure they represent you in the way you intend.

6. Describe your brows in three words:

Simple, natural, loved.

Brow Confidence is about building a community of women that want a better future for their brows.
