Say hello to Melissa
Here we feature a different woman in the Brow Confidence community and ask her about her first brow experiences, the lessons she’s learned, and her top brow tips.
Meet BC woman Melissa Hume, who has learned trimming is the trick to fuller brows.

1. Tell us about your first brow grooming experience?
My mum came after me with the family tweezers when I was young to get rid of my monobrow.
2. What is your current brow routine?
Firstly, I comb them with a spoolie, then I use Mecca Max Brow Guru Micro-Matic Pencil for some light shading/filling in. Lastly, I set their shape with soap on a wet spoolie. The soap tip from Lien is such a winner, it really holds them in shape all day!
3. What does brow confidence mean to you?
Having the knowledge on what brow shape suits my face and the tips and tricks to give my brows their best life.
4. How did you find out about Lien?
I have been seeing Lien for the last five years and thank goodness I found her when I did! I had been trawling through lots of beauty forums, trying to find a recommendation for someone to help me with my brows. Her name kept popping up; people were calling her the eyebrow queen and an absolute godsend (1000% agree).
At the time, I had reached the end of my brow tethers. After years of shaping them myself, using no method, and terrible intuition alone (often late at night involving me going to tweezer town on them), they were misshapen and uneven.
Before my first appointment, Lien had me send her a selfie so she could see where my brows were at, then I had a phone consultation with her. I was already really impressed and then when I met with her, she was amazing. I knew immediately I had found someone special; someone who had really mastered their craft and who I could trust implicitly. One of the wonderful things about Lien is that she wants to empower all her clients with the knowledge she has acquired. She teaches you all the techniques to be able to maintain your best brows.
5. Biggest lesson you’ve taken away?
Trim them! My brow hairs grow long, I get these little tails that flick up at the ends. Trimming them and having shorter brows actually makes them appear fuller.
6. Describe your brows in three words:
Fierce, face-framing, and flattering.
Brow Confidence is about building a community of women that want a better future for their brows.
