Caroline Raffan

Say hello to Caroline

Here we feature a different woman in the Brow Confidence community and ask her about her first brow experiences, the lessons she’s learned, and her top brow tips.

Meet BC woman Caroline Raffan, who firmly believes that good brows have the power to change your whole face.

1. Tell us about your first brow grooming experience?

I think I was about 12 or 13 when my mum took me to a salon and said to the beautician, ‘She’s got a lovely shape, but I want to make sure she keeps it that way.’ I remember she was very specific with her instructions to only take away the messy ones at the bottom of my brow and leave the top intact as is. It was during the time of pencil-thin brows, and I think she was scared they would go overboard if they touched the top of my brows.

2. What is your current brow routine?

Brush them up with a bit of Pears soap and a touch of brow mascara near the front of my brows where they are a bit lighter and I’m good to go! When I’m wearing makeup I usually add just a bit of highlighter underneath my brow as well. Since Lien has taken control of my brows, my everyday routine is really simple, easy, and quick! Prior to this, I remember working on my brows for ages with all sorts of different products to try and make them look right and I could never quite achieve the look I was after.

“Brow confidence to me means feeling good and confident not only about my brows but my whole face.”

3. What does brow confidence mean to you?

It’s true what they say: good brows change your whole face. Brow confidence to me means feeling good and confident not only about my brows but my whole face. On the weekends when I’m wearing no makeup, I’ll just pop on some moisturiser and sunscreen, brush my brows up with some Pears soap and I’m ready to go.

4. How did you find out about Lien?

My housemate has been going to Lien for years, and I’d always loved her brows. One day, after feeling like my brows really needed a switch up, I asked for Lien’s number and that was that. During my first appointment with Lien she really took the time to teach me about my brows and how they should look based on my face. I remember after my first appointment walking out and feeling like my whole face has just had a facelift! The trimming, and taking away those flyaway hairs at the top of my brows was really the game changer for me.

“What Lien has taught me is the power of the brow trim, and just how much it transforms not only your shape but brow routine as well.”

5. Biggest lesson you’ve taken away?

Don’t touch them and let Lien work her magic every 5 weeks! During the first bout of lockdown in NSW, I could see the brows growing out more and more. I started just plucking a stray here and there just to keep it under control (at least a little). What Lien has taught me is the power of the brow trim, and just how much it transforms not only your shape but brow routine as well. I got a little overconfident and decided to give the trimming a go myself – and then I had instant regret. Luckily, it was lockdown so no one saw me, and I didn’t do too much damage. By the time I saw Lien again after lockdown they had grown out again and she fixed me right up.

6. Describe your brows in three words:

Everyday low maintenance.

Brow Confidence is about building a community of women that want a better future for their brows.
